The Pasadena Society of Artists 83rd Annual Exhibition includes over sixty works of art by thirty-six artists. The media represented includes photography, ceramics, stone sculpture, watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings, drawings and printmaking. The Pasadena Society of Artists (PSA), founded in 1925, is the oldest established organization of professional artists in the San Gabriel Valley. PSA has been presenting fine works of art to the community for the past eighty-three years, having produced more than 325 art exhibitions in that time. Prizes to be awarded include the following:

About the Juror: The juror for the Pasadena Society of Artists 83rd Annual Exhibition is Walter Askin, professor emeritus, California State University, Los Angeles. Mr. Askin is a Pasadena native known for his imaginative and satirical paintings, sculptures and graphic works, which are collected by many museums, including the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Tate Gallery (London), the Norton Simon Museum (Pasadena), and the Institute of Contemporary Art (Chicago). He has exhibited throughout the world, including solo-exhibitions at Künstlerhaus (Vienna), the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York) and the de Young Museum (San Francisco). Mr. Askin received his master’s in art from the University of California, Berkeley and also studied at the Ruskin School of Fine Art at Oxford University. |
