I began drawing before I could read, perhaps because my mother allowed me to draw on the walls of our house. The act of drawing has always been very fulfilling for me. It is an experience both joyous and tormenting. It is like a personal dialogue and the act of drawing always keeps me company. Drawing is also the skeleton for my printmaking. I first create the tool (or plate) and these marks finally produce the print. I work on plates made from zinc, copper or wood and run them through a printing press. I often work on a series of images within a related theme and my editions are fairly small as I do all my own printing.

I was born in Bogotá, Colombia and spent my childhood in South America. After finishing high school in Canada, I graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, receiving a Batchelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Printmaking. I took further courses at the Boston Museum School, Pasadena City College, and Cal. State in Los Angeles. I have exhibited my work in Colombia, England, various cities of the United States, and presently in California where I now live. I am a member of various art organizations and have received many award.

I have participated in juried exhibitions since 1982 until the present date. Currently have work with Los Angeles Printmaking Society at Folk and Art Museum on Wilshire Blvd and at the Burbank Creative Arts Center
