Thanks to all Memebers who submitted identity designs this month. We have a challenging design problem at hand and the submissions with the most potential will be presented at the general membership meeting for your consideration and vote to enter the refinement process.

Vibiana Aparicio-Chamberlin Solo Exhibition
In Lak Ek: You Are My Other Me: Ubuntu
Opening Reception on May 24th, 2 to 5:30 at the Southern California Library
which documents the history of the labor and workers movements of the Los Angeles area.
The reception will feature Vibiana's assemblage political pieces and paintings.
There will also be Afro Cuban music and a taco bar.
On June 21 from 2 to 5:30 Vibiana will host an art and politics Symposium
followed by socially conscious hip hop group, The Lowkeys. A drum circle will also be led by Paige.

Suzanne Saul
had an image of one of her environmental sculptures, DeConstruction, published on the cover of the Pasadena Weekly to announce the opening of the show, Endangered Species. There was an inside article, A Cry for Help, accompanying the photo. NBC also did an interview and taped parts of the show for 2 spots on the 5:00 and 7:00 news. |
Suzanne Saul will have another of her paintings, Red Bird Blue Bird, shown at The Folk Tree in Pasadena. ANYTHING GOES: A Small Works Show at The Folk Tree is on view from May 31 – June 28, 2008, with an opening reception on Saturday, May 31, from 2 – 6 PM This show celebrates many of the artists The Folk Tree has featured throughout the last twenty-two years, as well as some who are exhibiting here for the first time.

NEWPORT BEACH ARTS FOUNDATION – ART IN THE PARK, invites PSA Members to their 3RD bi-annual one-day art exhibition and sale. There will be a total of 60 artists participating and there are 20 slots still available. Gross take-in last year was 16k. The event will be held Saturday, June 21: 9:00-4:00 at Grant Howald Park, located at Iris Avenue @ 5th Avenue, Corona Del Mar–Newport Beach CA 92625, near the Oasis Senior Center.
