Biographical Information:
My name is George Repetti and my daughter is Danielle Rayne.
We are nature photographers and go by the name Dani & Dad Nature Photography. Our photography business began when Danielle purchased a Nikon camera a little over 5 years ago, mainly for the purpose of making videos. However, as her pollinator friendly garden was attracting so many hummingbirds, butterflies and bees her interest in taking photos of these gifts of nature became a passion. She posted these photos on various social media sites to share them with friends and followers. She was soon getting inquiries about selling prints of her photos and the printers we had did not make very good pictures. I purchased an Epson Expression XP -15000 inkjet printer designed for color printing. As the demand for her pictures increased, we then established a shop on Etsy as Danielle Rayne Photography. Printing photographs was not as simple a task as I imagined it would be. I came to appreciate that some pictures looked best on a matte finish paper, others on a luster finish paper with a myriad of papers to choose from. Today, I use a matte finish , luster finish, and linen textured paper to produce prints and note cards. About 3 years ago we began exhibiting at arts & Craft shows in the greater Los Angeles area. I had been taking pictures for many years, starting with a 35mm fixed lens camera ,whose name I don’t recall, given to me by a friend. As my interest in photography grew, I upgraded to a Nikon F Photomic T camera and a 50mm lens. My work took me to many interesting places in this country which I photographed on my time off. I used black and white roll film which I processed in the make shift dark room in the bathroom. I did this for many years, but as my work responsibilities increased, I only took pictures when on vacation. About 2years ago, Danielle gave me her original Nikon after she upgraded to another Nikon. A macro lens was added to a normal and telephoto lens. When it’s springtime in Southern California many beautiful flowers bloom and I began taking pictures of them. A year ago I entered a framed picture of a magnolia in the Burbank Fine Arts Federation show and received a juror’s award. With Danielle’s encouragement , I displayed my pictures on Etsy and at the Arts & Crafts shows we attended, and the results have been very satisfying. Earlier this year we established Dani & Dad Nature Photography and are delighted to share our work with you.
